Instead of waiting for the trolley Justin said he wanted to walk it. So we did and it sucked but we finally made it into the park after our mile long trek uphill. Justin said we were now warmed up. LOL Once you enter SDC and you smell all the smells and you see all the happy faces and attractions it just makes it all worth while. I love this place. And my babies love it too. They kept telling me all day how happy they were and how much fun they were having. :) So funny how your idea of fun changes as you get older. I had a blast and I didn't ride anything but kid rides. Seeing the smiles on their faces and watching them have fun is all we need now to have a good time.
We rode Elephant March, Happy Frogs, Wings of Wonder, Lady Bugs, Tea Cups, Swings, Dizzy Dogs and played in the splash pad and foam ball arena. It doesn't sound like much as I think about it but all that took 6 hours. We didn't get to ride the train, Lost River or American Plunge like we planned. We didn't even make it over to the carousel and sand pit. We pretty much stayed on one side of the park. Jonah told us we will do everything we didn't get a chance to next time. He has it all planned out. Such a good boy.
They have a new area called Fireman's Landing which is really fun and where all the action was. We stayed away as long as the kids let us because it was so busy over there but we made our way over and really it was probably the funnest part of the trip.
After the splash pad, we had to change clothes. They were drenched. Good thing I brought back ups!
We ended our day by going into the taffy store and picking out 2 of everything. Jonah loves this and it's sort of become a tradition. We get a small bag and Jonah divvys out pieces as we walk back to the car.
As we were walking, Justin told me how happy he was that we went. Jonah told me he had the best day in his whole life and Journey Kay wanted more taffy - just one more tiny piece...
It was such a wonderful day. We were sore, tired and stinky when we got home but it was just the result of a day well spent.
Huge thanks to my parents for hooking us up again with season passes. They've given us a whole year of wonderful memories to be made. Can't wait for next time!
