Good to Grow

It started out  like this: 

And after a lot of hard work, it turned into this:

Props to my sweet husband for the idea, for building the wooden box and for planting everything! This was his project and has wanted to grow a garden for so long. We've got strawberries, watermelon, onions, tomatoes, banana peppers and zucchini planted. The zucchini has taken a turn for the worse...we are going to try again though.

Strawberries are doing well!! The kids love this so much and Jonah waters our garden every day with so much enthusiasm. He understands we are growing vegetables and fruit to eat and we have to water and take care of our plants in order for them to grow. He is learning so much.

Our garden is not the only thing growing around here though...

These sweet babies are the best of  friends. Jonah loves to make his sister happy and pushes her in the swing, see saws with her and does ring around the rosie with her as often as she requests it.

Jonah Patrick sat very still for me while I cut his hair. He needed it cut so bad and hates going to the barber so his ole mom decided to break out her hair cutting kit and give it a try. It turned out so good. I love his hair short! He got a sucker for being such a good boy.

Another huge milestone for Jonah...he is writing his name! I did the dots then handed him the crayon and told him to start with the J at the top. He did this completely by himself and showed great control with the crayon. I couldn't believe it. Weeks ago he could only do circles and straight lines well...now he is tracing his name perfectly. After he did this he told me he wanted to draw a robot. So he drew a square ( a really good one) with legs, arms and eyes all in the correct spots. 

Our garden is growing and so are our babies. Jonah has started calling me "mom" sometimes. I don't care for it. Not at all. They can grow, I'll allow it, but my name better remain Mommy.
