Shine on Stars

Jonah started soccer. Like the real deal. He did a soccer camp this summer and loved it so we signed him up for the Fall and Spring sessions. He is on Team Stars and is just the cutest little soccer player I've ever seen. His favorite part of the whole thing is getting snack after it's over. He goes on and on about it...how it's so cool that everyone gets the same snack and cool drink and continues to talk about it all the way home.

Besides getting snack he's also doing some serious soccer playing. He can run like the wind but isn't as aggressive as the other kids. He's never been aggressive so I think it's something he'll have to learn in order to compete in sports. He kind of stands back if the kids get bunched up fighting over the ball. He'll wait for an opening and swoop in there. He's got good control over the ball when there aren't other kids trying to get it from him so that's something else he's working on. He is such a good listener and really likes his Coach.

It's been fun watching them play. We had our first game the other day and got beat pretty bad. I'm convinced the black team were just a team of midget men who had years of soccer experience. I swear one of those "kids" had a beard.

But Jonah wasn't in the zone really. When he didn't have his arms out flying like an airplane on the field he was busy watching the other team make goal after goal. He'd just stand there and watch it happen. It was a rough game to watch but so funny. 4 year old boys are hilarious. They don't know which goal is theirs or who is on their team, they trip over their own feet and pick their noses and that's just the first 15 minutes.

We have a game coming up tomorrow so we're looking forward to seeing how we do against a team of children and not a team of midgets masquerading as 4 year olds.

They were being sleeping bears and when they woke up they got to catch the others who had to keep dribbling the ball

He got to pick his jersey number and picked 9 because it was the biggest number

Team STARS consists of Coach Rachel, Coach James and then the players are Jonah, Parker, Aiden, Cameron, Paxton and Thompson (not pictured)

We're in charge of snack tomorrow and Jonah has chosen to bring gatorade and donuts so it's gonna be a great day regardless if we win or lose. Here's to a great season! Go STARS!
