TRIFEST - Super Sprint Event

Mom, Dad, Justin and Jake all went a little crazy and decided to do a triathlon together. It was a Super Sprint that consisted of a 200 meter swim, a 4.7 mile bike and a 1 mile run. Really it's not much compared to what they do on a regular basis. Jake, Mom and Dad are training machines so this was just "another workout" for them. Justin started seriously training about 2 weeks prior to the event. He had to work on his swim so would get up at 5AM to go to the community center and do laps. I told you they went crazy, right? It's really the only way to explain their behavior. I do love watching them compete though. It's a rush even for us bystanders.

Before the race

Aren't they adorable?

Jake jumping in
There's Mom, Dad and Justin waiting for their turn to swim. They get in line based on how fast they swim.
I'd like to caption this picture "THUG LIFE" my parents are so badass!
There goes Dad into the water
Then Justin went..

Here they are exciting the pool..heading to transition to get started on the bike portion

Here's Jacob. Coming in strong after the run..he wasn't too pleased actually. His run was a 10 min pace because of some knee problems he's been having.

Blurry but here's mom coming in after the bike ride..getting ready to run
Dad was next and then Justin was right behind him.

Here's Justin on the home stretch. He busted out his run and passed mom and dad. Mom came in just a couple minutes later.

Mom came in next and was sprinting her little butt off trying to pass the lady in front of her.
She wasn't able to pass but had an awesome finish.

Here's some shots I swiped from the professional photographers website. He got some good ones!

If you ain't first you're last...
So Mom came in 3rd in her age group and Jake took home the gold. He said he'll put the 1st place medal with the others, in a box in his room. He's acquired some serious trophies over his time as a triathlete. These types of events are not for the weak. My family trained hard and I couldn't be prouder of them. They may be a little crazy but they are the most badass group of crazies ever!
Congratulations to my amazing family!
