These babies, I mean this elephant and kitty were so much fun this year! This was the first time we actually went door to door trick or treating. It was like they were pros. This is how it went down..
The kids would walk up to the door and then Jonah would say "Trick or Treat!" then we would remind him to ring the doorbell. So then he rang the bell and when someone answered he would say it again. If there were dogs, he would greet them too. They would get their loot then say "Thank you!" and then proceed to say Bye to them and then Bye to their dog. Then we would all walk off together holding hands. They both really enjoyed the whole thing. We went to about 8 houses or so and Mema came along with us! This was a special treat and the kids were so happy to have her with us. Justin stayed back at the house to give out candy. Our neighborhood is really awesome. Tons of kids everywhere dressed up walking the streets with their parents. So cute! After we trick or treated we walked over to our neighborhood park for a haunted hayride and apple cider. We had to wait awhile but it was worth it. Jonah was stoked. We sat on hay on a trailer bed while being driven around a field behind us. They set it up with ghosts and goblins and several reapers and witches to jump out at you along the way. Jonah would scream along with all the other kids and then laugh. He thought it was hilarious. I tried to put a silly spin on it because I didn't want him to be scared. We told him they were just being silly not scary. It worked :) Journey spent the 15 minute hayride flailing about, doing back bends and trying to jump off the trailer. Clearly the child had too much candy. All in all it was an awesome Halloween and Jonah hasn't stopped talking about it. Can't wait to do it again next year!
